Musharraf respects judiciary: Aasia

General Karachi

KARACHI: All Pakistan Muslim League APML Central Information Secretary Aasia Ishaque has said that General Retd Pervez Musharraf returned to Pakistan on his own while the court did not ask him to come back and appear before it.

Musharraf appeared in the court just like a common man because he respects judiciary, she said. “APML chief Musharraf have faced Pakistani print and electronic media courageously and responded to all allegations in a very diligent manner.

She said that Musharraf was not like Tauqeer Sadiq, who had fled the country and the government failed to comply to the orders of the apex court for bringing him back to the country so that he could be produced before the apex court to face the charges levelled against him regarding corruption that amounted to billions of rupees looted from the national exchequer.

She said that contrary to the apex court’s order for producing absconders like Tauqeer Sadiq, fabricated information was being dissipated in the media for putting Musharraf’s name in the exit control list.

She said that Musharraf returned to the country in daylight and if he deem fit to travel abroad, he would again go abroad in broad daylight.
