Mumtaz Bhutto lashes out at Sind govt. for increasing salaries of assembly members

District General

Mirpur Bhutto: PMLN leader and former Chief Minister of Sind Mumtaz Ali Bhutto has lashed out at outgoing PPP government for increasing the salaries and other facilities for the assembly members in last session of provincial assembly.

“It’s shameful as employees of several departments are deprived of their salaries but the rulers neglecting such a big issue raised the salaries of assembly members who had already plundered the national exchequer during last five years,” he said in a statement issued from his hometown on Saturday.

“The people of Sind should take serious note of it,” he urged.

Bhutto said the Transparency International had recently disclosed that present government committed corruption of Rs.18 billion in five years.

PMLN leader alleged that rulers filled posts of grade 17 and 18 with their own people besides giving promotions in violation of rules. The rulers also used the powers of Sind Public Service Commission and destroyed this institution.
