Minister: Regional countries conference to be held in Capital soon for implementation of drug regulatory act more effectively: Firdous

Islamabad: Minister for National Regulations and Services Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has announced that a conference of regional countries would be held in Islamabad soon for implementation of Drug Regulatory Act more effectively.

She was talking to a German drug investors’ delegation headed by Chairman Merck Group Executive Board‚ Dr. Karl Ludwig Kley in Islamabad. She assured them of full cooperation and security of investment in different cities including Quetta.

Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said objective of the conference is to share experiences and observations of other countries’ regulators for establishing a concrete strategy to implement the Drug Regulatory Act and prepare a roadmap for facilitating masses at their doorstep. The Minister said that the government will not only encourage foreign investment but also provide complete support in this regard.

The head of German delegation appreciated the efforts of Ministry of National Regulation and Services regarding passage of Drug Regulatory Act and said that the step would be helpful to remove hurdles in the provision of quality drugs at reasonable rates in market.
