Kala Bagh Dam cannot be built: Chaudhry Shujaat

Dadu, Sindh: Chief of Pakistan Muslim League Q Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain ruled out any possibility of constructing Kala Bagh Dam and urged those talking of building such a dam should stop raising this issue.

Addressing a public meeting at nearby village Alipur on Sunday, he said, “Those trying to develop consensus on Kala Bagh Dam, should bury this disputed project forever.”

PMLQ leader said his party is doing politics of issues and is attaching first priority to the people of Sindh. “If we want a strong Pakistan, we must strengthen the provinces first,” he said adding that people of Sindh must be empowered and strengthened.

Chaudhry Shujaat said Sindh is the land of Saints and they have come to this province with message of love and peace and with a commitment to remove their sense of deprivation.

He claimed that there was no Wadera in PMLQ and it was a truly workers’ party. He also claimed that his party secured votes next to PPP in 2008 elections.

Secretary General, PMLQ Syed Mushahid Hussain in his address said his party was opposed to dividing Sindh and vowed to foil such conspiracy.

Other PMLQ leaders including former Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Yousuf, Haleem Adil Shaikh, and Abdul Sattar Khoso also spoke.

Ms. Afroze Begum of PMLN ladies wing announced joining PMLQ along with many other women. As the speeches of PMLQ leaders were going on, the people brought for the public meeting rushed to the food arranged for them as the program had started late. The police had to resort baton charging to expel them from that area but interestingly the police personnel themselves started eating food being hungry since morning.
