Japanese envoy meets Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi

Bahawalpur, December 14(PPI): Japanese diplomat Mr. Takahiro Tamura, Special Assistant for Southwest Asian Issues, called on Bahawalpur National Awami Party Chief Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi at his residence Sadiq Garh Palace Dera Nawab Sahib on Friday.

The meeting, which lasted for one and half an hour, was also attended by President BNAP Ex-federal minister Farooq Azam Malik, Vice President Pakistan Peoples’ Party South Punjab Hassan Askari Sheikh and Central Additional Secretary General Bahawalpur BNAP Mian Rafatur Rehman Rehmani.

Japanese diplomat and Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi discussed prevailing political situation and matters of mutual interest. Japanese diplomat was briefed by BNAP leaders about the historic, legal and constitutional background of former Bahawalpur province.

Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi and his aides informed Japanese diplomat regarding the launching of Bahawalpur National Awami Party (BNAP) on April 14, 2011 and its objectives. BNAP leadership further informed that BNAP would field 48 candidates on all 16 national and 32 Punjab Assembly seats of Bahawalpur division in forthcoming election.

BNAP President Farooq Azam Malik stated that BNAP was ready to negotiate with all political parties on the issue of the restoration of former provincial status of Bahawalpur as it is their one point agenda.

Before leaving the Sadiq Garh Palace, Japanese diplomat presented a gift to Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi.
