SIALKOT: Federal Minister for National Regulation and Services Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the federal government would soon bring the important reforms in 1965 Homoeopathy Act and would make necessary legislation to give the prolonged delayed legal protection to all the registered homoeopaths across the country. She said that the PPP government was committed to promote the homeopathy and homoeopathic system of treatment and for this purpose the federal government would encourage the homeopathic medical college in Pakistan.
She stated this while addressing an awareness raising seminar organized by National Council for Homoeopathy Islamabad at a local hotel here Saturday. Ch. Tahir Sultan Advisor to AJK Prime Minister, Tahir Mehmood Hundali MPA and Dr. Mehmoodul Haq Abbasi President National Council for Homeopathy Pakistan were also present on his occasion.
Federal Minister said that it was the first time in the history of the country that the government has internationally recognized the services of the homoeopathic doctors in the country, saying that there was dire need of brining new reforms and new legislation in the 1965 Homeopathy Act. She said that the National Council for Homeopathy Pakistan would compile a complete data of all the registered homoeopaths in the country, besides, establishing a “Data Bank” till February 2013, in this.
On this occasion, Dr. Mehmoodul Haq Abbasi President National Council for Homeopathy Pakistan disclosed that now the number of the registered homoeopathic doctors has reached to 160,000 in Pakistan.
