Islamabad: “The present government is fully committed to implement the Human Rights agenda by protecting rights of its citizens’.
The Constitution of Pakistan guarantees protection of life and liberty of every citizen regardless of religion, race, creed or colour. Advisor to Prime Minister on Human Rights Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar has stated this in his message on International Human Rights that falls today Monday on December 10.
He said that Pakistan being a party to the Core Human Rights Conventions is committed to protect the rights of its citizens. Pakistan has always been among the forefront nations advocating Human Rights in line with our religious teachings, he added. Our tradition of commitment to Human Rights continues in the State policies. The Government of Pakistan is carrying forward an agenda for substantial reforms, which will have a salutary impact on the lives of its people, he said.
He said that present democratically elected Government, following the footsteps of its leaders is putting its best towards promotion and protection of Human Rights in Pakistan.
Ministry of Human Rights is mandated to review Human Rights situation in the country including implementation of policies, laws and measures, he said.
I invite the civil society and all stakeholders to come forward and play their role in realizing the dream of making Pakistan a country free from abuse and exploitation and violence against women, he added.
