Karachi: Consul General of Germany Dr. Tilo Klinner said on Wednesday that his country has planned various programs jointly with German companies and investors for Karachi as it was well aware of capacity and dynamics of this city.
Holding exhibition of German products, German Investors’ Conference and launching of vocational training program in collaboration with local industries for the youths of Karachi are some of the programs, he told in a meeting with Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan at Governor’s House.
Governor Ibad said despite all the challenges and negative propaganda, Karachi has been generating 70 percent revenue of country and meeting its economic needs. “Owing to capacity of this city, the foreign investors are keen to put up their capital here and Glaxo Smith & Kline, Merk and other companies are an example of it.”
Ibad said government knows that pace of investment was slow due to security concerns however positive results have been achieved after taking security measures.
Meanwhile, Dr. Karl Merk of MERK company called on Governor Ibad and told that his company plans expansion with investment of Rs.100 million.
