FATA delegation calls on Prime Minister

Islamabad: A delegation of FATA parliamentarians led by Haji Muneer Khan Orakzai called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the PM House Monday and apprised him about the issues pertaining to Tribal Areas.

The Prime Minister expressed his resolve to spare no effort to bring the Federally Administered Tribal Areas into the mainstream so that they could play their active role in nation building.

Reforms in the Frontier Crimes Regulations FCRs and extension of Political Parties Act to FATA are a testimony of the government’s commitment to ensure equal rights to people of the region, the Prime Minister added.

The Prime Minister appreciated the political sagacity and maturity demonstrated by representatives of Federally Administered Tribal Areas FATA in both the Houses and said that their contribution and role in the stability and continuity of the democratic system merits applause.

The members of the delegation assured the Prime Minister of their support and cooperation to the government both inside and outside the House.
