Doctor and his driver kidnapped in Kambar-Shahdadkot district

Ratodero: Medical Superintendent, Taluka Headquarter Hospital, Miro Khan Dr. Abdul Wahab Wadho was kidnapped along with his driver last night in the limits of Waggan police station, district Kambar-Shahdadkot.

According to Shafqat Wadho, his brother Dr. Abdul Wahab Wadho was returning home from Hyderabad in car along with driver Musarat Abro. They had left Hyderabad at 1.30p.m on Wednesday after getting his Annual Confidential Report from Director General, Health, Sindh. When they reached outside village Khairo Jatoi near Waggan town at Indus highway, they were intercepted by unidentified armed men who kidnapped doctor and his driver leaving the car behind at around 6.30. Some people informed Nasirabad police who reached there and found the car.

On search of the car, police found cash, CINC and other valuables and started following the footprints of the criminals and kidnapped persons. Footprint tracers were also called from Larkana for help.

Dr. Abdul Wahab, who had served as Executive District Officer Larkana, is a senior 19 grade officer and his promotion to grade 20 was due in a short time. He had also worked with WHO in Sanghar district.

On hearing the shocking news, Pakistan Medical Association Larkana Chapter held an emergency general body meeting on Thursday with Dr. Shah Baig Chandio, president, in the chair to condemn the incident.

Dr. Baig told newsmen that the doctors would observe protest daily for 2 hours at the OPD of Chandka Medical College Hospital from 9 to 11a.m till the recovery of kidnapped doctor. The scope of protest would be widened if the doctor was not recovered in 48 hours.

Meanwhile, PMA Sindh president Dr. Saeed Memon also condemned the kidnapping of Dr. Wahab.
