Islamabad: The High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam Haji Abdul Jalil bin Haji Ahmad paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the PM’s House on Monday.
Prime Minister while talking to the outgoing High Commissioner appreciated his role in strengthening Pakistan and Brunei relations during his stay stretching over eight years in Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Brunei which are further strengthening with the passage of time.
He recalled the assistance by the Brunei for the flood affectees in Pakistan. He said that the Foreign Services Academy Hostel built by Brunei is a symbol of friendship between the two countries.
The Prime Minister said that there is great potential for increasing bilateral trade between the two countries.
Raja Pervez Ashraf said that the government and people of Pakistan hold the Sultan of Brunei in great esteem and asked the High Commissioner to convey the best wishes to him on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan.
The High Commissioner of Brunei thanked the government of Pakistan for extending cooperation during his tenure as High Commissioner and said that he is going back with fond memories of Pakistan.
