Community Participation Crucial For Development Process: Pm

Islamabad: A delegation led by Sardar Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, MNA, met Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the Prime Minister’s House on Friday and discussed issues relating to district Haripur.

The delegation comprised office bearers of Pakistan Peoples’ Party hailing from district Haripur. Also present during the occasion was Minister for Communication Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan.

The delegation apprised the Prime Minister about the issues pertaining to the district and requested for development projects for the improvement of infrastructure and provision of health facilities like hospitals and colleges.

The Prime Minister said that the present government is committed to improve the standard of living of the people especially under-developed areas so that they can be brought at par with the developed areas of the country.

The Prime Minister said that development work can be doubly beneficial with peoples’ participation. He urged PPP workers to encourage community participation so that not only the right projects can be identified but also its ownership by the people will ensure the success and utility of the projects.

The Prime Minister said that the peoples’ government has allocated record amount of funds for development projects across the country without any political discrimination because it considers serving the people of Pakistan a sacred duty.

The Prime Minister said that the development work carried out by the government has been initiated with the objective that they should make a difference in the lives of the people of Pakistan, for the better.

The Prime Minister assured that all possible assistance and support would be extended to the people to raise their standards of living.
