Childless couple adopts 7day baby of poor mother
Karachi: Social worker Ramazan Chhipa, founder of Chhipa Welfare Association, handed over a 7day baby of a poor woman to a childless couple at a simple ceremony at a local hospital on Sunday.
A poverty-stricken mother had approached Ramazan Chhipa a few days back and gave her 7day baby to him saying she was unable to look after the infant due to abject poverty. She requested that the baby handed over to any well off family that can raise her up in a better way.
Chhipa admitted the baby immediately in a hospital for medical care where a couple – Sohail Shabbir and Mrs. Mahmooda Sohail, who had no child since the wedding 14 years back, adopted the baby girl and pledged looking after her like their real child.
