PM, Opposition Leader discuss political situation

The leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmad called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore on Saturday.

The current political situation in the country and other matters of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting.

Info Minister calls for PTI Chief’s accountability for violating Constitution

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan should be held accountable for violating the Constitution.

In a tweet, she said time has come for giving answer to dual system in the country.

The minister said Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz appeared 200 times in courts, whereas; Imran’s appearances are only two.

The Minister said Nawaz Sharif was disqualified for not taking salary from his son, but there is complete mum over Imran’s taking funds from foreigners.

Pakistani universities pledge over Rs500m for earthquake relief in Turkiye

Pakistani universities have pledged an amount of five hundred million rupees for earthquake relief activities in Turkiye.

A 34 member high-level Pakistani delegation from 18 universities participated in the Eurasian Higher Education Summit in Istanbul.

The donated amounted will be spent on relief, rehabilitation, and scholarships for students from the affected areas.

Punjab Governor inaugurates spring tree plantation drive

Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman has urged people to eagerly participate in plantation drive in order to save future generations from the adverse effects of the climate change.

He said this while inaugurating spring tree plantation drive by planting a sapling at Governor House in Lahore on Friday.

He stressed the need to enhance the forest cover in large urban centres in order to mitigate the adverse impacts of global warming.

The Governor said that numerous examples were found in the saying of Holy Prophet (SAWW) about the importance of trees as it is also strictly prohibited in Islam to cut plants even in the situation of war.

Karachi has huge potential for economic development of country: Murad

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated on Friday 18th “My Karachi-Oasis of Harmony” Exhibition at Expo Centre Karachi.

The exhibition has been arranged by Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

Addressing the ceremony, he said the exhibitions being arranged consistently from 2004 has strengthened the bonds of foreign investor’s local business community.

He said economic activities in Karachi city have restored the image of the country in the comity of nations.

Syed Murad Ali Shah said Karachi has a huge potential for the economic development of the country and his government was striving for providing a conducive atmosphere to manufacturers by decreasing the cost of production.

PM to inaugurate School on Wheels project in Islamabad today

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will inaugurate School on Wheels project in Islamabad on Tuesday.

In the first phase, the project consisting of 8 buses will provide education to the children of Islamabad and surrounding areas through mobile schools.

The Prime Minister will also address the ceremony on this occasion.

Later, the Prime Minister will launch the countrywide Spring Plantation Campaign by planting saplings.

Embassy in Italy following case of Pakistanis aboard capsized vessel: FO

Foreign Office says Pakistan Embassy in Italy is vigorously following the case of Pakistanis aboard the vessel that capsized off the coast of Italy on Sunday.

In a tweet, the Foreign Office said a senior Embassy official has met 16 Pakistani survivors of the capsized vessel who were in good physical condition.

The survivors informed that there were twenty Pakistanis on the ship. The Embassy is in close contact with Italian authorities to verify status of the four missing Pakistanis.
