Arab Human Rights Organization calls on Al-Houthi rebels to stop mass executions in Yemen

London-based Arab Organization for Human Rights condemned in a statement today the mass executions of 30 Yemeni citizens opposed to the terrorist rebel Al-Houthi militia.

In a statement, the organization stressed that these verdicts are arbitrary and based on confessions extracted under torture and called on the international community to exert pressure on Al-Houthi rebels to abolish them and release all detainees and prisoners and to abide by the recent understandings to alleviate the conflict in Yemen. It also described these verdicts as null and void, extrajudicial killings if implemented, trials that resulted in absurd proceedings unrelated to the judiciary and "a new crime to be added to the record of Al-Houthis in Yemen."

The Organization explained that the Criminal Court controlled by Al-Houthis in Sana'a had sentenced 30 people to death on Tuesday (July 8th), including students, academics and thinkers, after more than three years during which they were subjected to serious legal and human rights violations as some of them were arrested before reaching legal age.
