75 Police Mobiles fitted with Surveillance Cameras to operate soon in Karachi

Karachi: The Karachi police has been provided with 65 more mobile vehicles, which would be equipped with surveillance cameras soon to operate for monitoring the law & order in the city. These vehicles are in addition to ten fitted with surveillance cameras already handed over to city police.

The ten such mobile police vehicles are deployed at different locations of city for monitoring the situation. All these mobile vehicles would have link to the Command & Control Centre established at central police office.

In a meeting held on Wednesday convened to discuss the proper use of police vehicles, equipment and manpower, Inspector General of Police, Sindh Fayyaz Laghari directed to deploy two to four surveillance camera mobiles out of ten already available in old city areas.

He directed that surveillance cameras should be installed in newly provided mobiles at the earliest so that those areas could be monitored that are out of coverage of Command & Control Centre. He appointed DIG Administration as focal person for entire process of installation of surveillance cameras to their deployment and asked to submit reports in this regard.

DIG Finance told the meeting that PC-I has been prepared for expanding the coverage of Command & Control Centre through installation of more surveillance cameras.

AIG MT Qamar Raza Jaskani briefed the meeting on availability of vehicles, equipment and other resources.
