US, European allies pledge more military firepower for Ukraine

The United States and some of its European allies have announced new arms donations to Ukraine, including armoured vehicles and heavy weaponry.

 

The US military package worth some $2.5bn includes armoured personnel carriers, air defence systems and tens of thousands of rockets and artillery rounds.

 

Earlier, the United Kingdom, in a joint statement with defence ministers and representatives of nine European countries, said it would send 600 Brimstone missiles to Kyiv.

Palestinian President urges US intervention to stop Israel’s extremist measures

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has called on the US to intervene to stop the Israeli new government’s measures against the Palestinians before it is too late.

 

The call from Palestinian President came during his meeting with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in Ramallah.

 

The Palestinian leader said Washington should stop Israel’s unilateral measures and violations, including the expansion of settlements, killings, storming of Palestinian cities and towns, and deducting Palestinian tax dues.

Kashmiris committed to accomplish martyrs’ mission: APHC

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders have said that the Kashmiris are committed to accomplish the mission of their martyrs at all costs and no amount of Indian state terrorism can force them to give up this sacred cause.

 

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC leaders and organizations including Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Zamruda Habib, Yasmeen Raja, Farida Bahenji, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir in their statements issued in Srinagar and Jammu paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Gaw Kadal massacre on the eve of their martyrdom anniversary.

 

They said the Kashmiri people have rendered unprecedented sacrifices for securing their right to self-determination in the last over seven decades that will not be allowed to go waste.

 

Over 50 innocent people were martyred and hundreds others were injured when Indian troops had opened fire on peaceful protesters in Gaw Kadal area of Srinagar on January 21 in 1990. The demonstrators were protesting against the molestation of several women by Indian troops in the area. The APHC has called for complete shutdown in Srinagar’s Civil Lines and adjoining areas, tomorrow.
