The US and Russian defence secretaries have spoken on phone in a rare moment of high-level contact between the two countries since beginning of Ukraine conflict.

Both sides confirmed that the situation in Ukraine was discussed.

After Friday’s call, Pentagon said the US was eager to keep lines of communication open.

Russia’s defence ministry said current questions of international security were discussed, including the situation in Ukraine.

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has elected new Central Committee and new Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

The week-long National Congress concluded in Beijing which was presided over by President Xi Jinping on Saturday.

The forum also passed a resolution on the work report of the 19th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

The new CPC leadership will be elected at the first plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee tomorrow.

According to Met Office forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy and cold weather is expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, Leh and Baramula.

Srinagar, Pulwama and Shopian four degree centigrade, Jammu fourteen, Leh minus two, Anantnag five and Baramula three degree centigrade.
