Senator Ishaq Dar nominated as next Finance Minister

An important meeting of PML-N was held in London with party Chief Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the chair.

Overall political and economic situation of the country was discussed in the meeting.

On the occasion, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail submitted his resignation to party Chief Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

The party Chief appreciated Miftah Ismail’s efforts to perform his responsibilities in difficult economic situation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the party Chief Muhammad Nawaz Sharif nominated Senator Ishaq Dar for the slot of Finance Minister.

Information Minister rejects baseless accusations against PML-N leadership

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has rejected as baseless the PTI Chief Imran Khan’s accusations against PML-N leadership which he levelled during his address to a public meeting in Karak.

In a statement, the Information Minister said Imran Khan is telling lies and misguiding people.

Talking about the alleged leaked audio tapes, as mentioned by Imran Khan in his address, she said a power plant was imported from India as per policy of the previous government of PTI.

Marriyum Aurangzeb asked Imran Khan to read decision of the Lahore High Court’s Multan bench with regard to installation of the grid station at a housing society.

She said Imran Khan is mourning over his compromise on Pakistan’s sovereignty, independence, and economy by accepting illegal foreign funding.

FM underlines need to increase cooperation of trade, defence, counter-terrorism with Egypt

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held a bilateral meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Hassan Shoukry  in New York on the sidelines of the 77th UNGA Session.

They reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and agreed to enhance the frequency of bilateral political exchanges.

They underlined the need to increase cooperation related to trade, defence, counter-terrorism, education, culture and tourism.

The two leaders also exchanged views on important developments in Afghanistan and the region as well as the rise in global tensions. They emphasized the importance of finding peaceful solutions to conflicts and disputes through diplomatic means.

The Foreign Minister also assured of Pakistan’s full support to Egypt as the Chair of CoP-27 Climate Change Conference.

He further said that Pakistan would contribute to the success of the conference by participating at the highest level, and projecting the views of developing countries in its capacity as the current Chair of Group of 77 and China.

Pakistan and Egypt enjoy excellent fraternal relations underpinned by a shared heritage and commonality of views. The two countries closely collaborate bilaterally, as well as on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Turkiye’s 12th “Kindness Train” carrying humanitarian aid departs for Pakistan from Kocaeli

Turkiye’s 12th “Kindness Train” carrying humanitarian aid to Pakistan for the flood victims, has departed from Kocaeli province.

According to a statement issued by local governor’s office, over 768 tons of humanitarian aid material has been packed on the “Kindness Train”, consisting of 28 wagons.

Deputy Governor Abdul Rauf Ulusoy said more aid will be sent for the flood victims of Pakistan in the next week.
