Sudan Representative urges UN Security Council to lift sanctions regime

Sudan Permanent Representative to the United Nations Security Council has urged lifting of 17-year sanctions from his country amid a rapidly deteriorating socioeconomic situation in the country.

In statement, he said that lifting the sanctions will allow the Sudanese to achieve and consolidate peace and address the transnational crimes occurring along our long borders.

EU pledges €100mln to rebuild damaged schools in Ukraine

European Union has pledged to provide 100 million Euros for rebuilding schools damaged in Ukraine due to the ongoing war with Russia.

In a statement, the EU Commission chief Ursula Von der Leyen said Europe’s solidarity with Ukraine will remain unshakable and promised that the bloc will maintain sanctions against Russia and continue financial support for Ukraine.

Armenia, Azerbaijan clashes flares again after deadly exchanges

New clashes have erupted between Azerbaijan and Armenia as international peace efforts intensified a day after nearly 100 soldiers have been killed in border clash between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry has urged both the parties to refrain from further escalation and show restraint.

The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has also called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to take immediate steps to deescalate tension, exercise maximum restraint and resolve any outstanding issues through dialogue and implement previous agreements
