16 injured as cops, villagers exchange firing

Pangrio, Sindh: Eight policemen and equal number of villagers were injured where a police team and villagers traded firing near here on Monday. As per details, a police team of Amin Jani police station of district Dadu, assisted by armed men belonging to Village Phulji raided Village Saleh Panhwar and Muhammad Mallah Goth near here at 4:00amn in morning.

They opened firing on the villages which was retaliated by the villagers. As a result, 8 cops Ghulam Hussain Mallah, Abdul Hameed Panhwar, Ali Nawaz Jaskani, Abdul Haq Mahar, Muhammad Ramzan, Mir Muhammad Shah and driver Ismail received bullet injuries. Two armed men escorting police team, Dildar Panhwar and Ali Muhammad Panhwar also received injuries, while six villagers whose abodes were attacked, Ali Ahmed Panhawar, Porho Panhwar, Eeso Panhwar, Ahmed Panhwar and two women, also sustained injuries.

Pangrio police rushed to site of clash took officials of Dadu police including SHO Rasool Bux Panhwar to Pangrio police station for taking action against them as they had not informed the local police before raiding the villages.

It is learnt that a girl, Farzana Panhwar of Village Phulji had married one Hakeem Panhwar of village Goth Saleh Panhwar on their free will and family of the girl was irritated due to this marriage.
