KARACHI: Committees have been constituted for seat adjustments at divisional level at a 10 political parties’ alliance meeting, held at Pakistan Muslim League-F House, here on Monday.
The committees constituted at Karachi level comprise PML N leader Saleem Zia, Irfanullah Marwat, PMLF leader Jam Madad Ali, Khan Yasir Sain, Zia Abbas of NPP, Jamaate Islami’s Mohammed Hussain Mehnti, Jamiat Ulemae Islâm-F leader Qari Mohammed Usman, JUP leader Mohammed Hamim Ghauri, Pakistan Sunni Tehreek’s Matloob Awan, Sind United Party representative Syed Ghulam Shah and PMLN leader Liaquat Jatoi.
A high level meeting of these 10 parties was held here under the chairmanship of PMLF Secretary General Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh and it was decided that these committees would soon meet caretaker prime minister and apprise him that the prepoll rigging has been started all over the country, particularly in Sind.
The committees will also meet caretaker Sind chief minister and express their concern over the transfers and postings made by the PPP government during the last three months.
They will also apprise the caretaker prime minister that in the presence of the caretaker chief minister, fair and free elections would not be possible.
It was also decided in the meeting that all these committees at their divisional level would conduct scrutiny for their candidates at district level. Another meeting of these committees will be held at divisional headquarters of PMLF.
The meeting of provincial heads will be held on 9 and 10 April at Functional House Karachi under the chairmanship of Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh where names of the candidates will be announced.
