Long March: No body to be allowed to take law into hand, says Malik
Islamabad: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that the Government cannot ignore security aspect for the Long March.
Talking to newsmen in Islamabad on Monday, he said that long marchers will not be stopped but nobody will be allowed to take law into his hand.
He said that Government had issued security alerts on the basis of information received from agencies and Special Branch Punjab. The Minister said that allegations of filling trenches in Islamabad with powder keg are baseless.
He said that those talking about gathering of four million could not even manage to assemble one hundred thousand. Rehman Malik said instructions have been issued for provision of alternative route for airport.
Meanwhile‚ strict security measures are in place in the federal capital to deal with any untoward incident. Islamabad police has support of FC‚ rangers and other law enforcement agencies to cope with any violent situation. Containers have been placed and barbed wires erected on almost all the roads leading to the red zone, he added.
